John E Frank, MD is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology at The Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and founded The Anapelli Hair Clinic based in New York City in 2006.
He had his first exposure to hair transplantation during his residency at Loyola University in Chicago before opening his first hair loss clinic in San Francisco in 2000.
From 2003-2006 he became the regional director at Medical Hair Restoration in New York City prior to opening Anapelli. During this time he trained 3 fellows in hair restoration who are currently practicing hair transplant throughout the country. He has also authored several articles, book chapters and lectured on hair loss, hair transplant as well as other maladies of the head and neck.
He graduated with a BS in chemistry from Ohio State in 1984, and as the captain of the Buckeye football team became the number one tight end in the school’s history. Following graduation, he enrolled in the independent study program at Ohio State’s College of Medicine while simultaneously playing professional football with the San Francisco Forty Niners and winning two Super Bowl rings(.http://hairclinicusa.com/dr-john-frank-medicine-football-nfl/)
After extensive head and neck, skull base and hair loss surgery training and experience, Doctor Frank has strictly devoted his professional time to treating people suffering from the maladies of hair loss.
His philosophy is that no two scalps are alike and that hair loss should be customized to each individual. He is concerned that some of the fantastic marketing in today’s hair loss world may create sensational expectations and he strives to inform all of his patients of their realistic potential results. He is grateful of the hair transplant surgeons who have helped pave the way for him.
He lives with wife and two children on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where they are involved in several charitable endeavors.
Dr. Frank is recommended by The American Hair Loss Association and The International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons. Ask Dr. Frank a question on The IAHRS Hair Transplant Info Center.
