Effecting Change Takes More Than Lip Service

Most medical organizations and societies develop position statements based on resolutions to clearly communicate policy on key issues to its membership and to the public. While distributing legal updates, consumer alerts and declarative statements on issues like the unlawful practice of medicine might be sexy to add to a press release, or to post on an organization’s website, does it really help to effect change and to keep consumer’s safe to simply state that you disagree with the unethical or illegal practice of medicine?
